We recently caught up with Troy Callahan, factory manager of Architectural Cladding Suppliers.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role?
I came on board with ACS in February 2020. I made the change from a warehousing and logistics role where I was the National Operations Manager dedicated to running interstate and local transport. Here at ACS, I have taken on the role of Factory Manager and have been in the position for nearly one year now.
What are your responsibilities?
My responsibilities in this role are to manage our operations team through multiple shifts night and day ensuring customer orders are processed, manufactured, and delivered on time. A number of our customers also prefer to pick-up their products, so it is imperative that all orders are processed, out on the floor, and ready for collection.
The fun doesn’t stop there! You have to stay on your toes as the goalposts are continually shifting. This makes it challenging to run our responsive delivery service ensuring we are on the road early every morning for our customers, and carefully planning our manifests to accommodate delivery requests and urgent requirements.
This includes anything in between of course. It’s the way we respond to customer issues and concerns that I pride myself on. Given our team completely understands the challenges our installers face on site. There are plenty of other areas to keep me busy such as looking after inventory, material procurement, and incidentals with our administration team.
How long have you been working in the industry?
A little over a year and have very much enjoyed expanding my knowledge in this industry. I am looking forward to many more years ahead! We have a lot of knowledge at ACS, and everyone is all too eager to share it – which really helps.
I am very much a people person and community-driven – so I really enjoy dealing with all our clients. Dare I say – I won’t stop learning here… It seems we are constantly surrounded by new ideas and evolving as a business.
What satisfies you most about your work?
Seeing the hard work our team puts in, especially with our metal cladding products – the end result is very satisfying. Once installed the finish and aesthetic can be truly special.
I enjoy the relationships formed with our customers as their projects progress. There’s nothing better than seeing the finished result – they all do such great work!
Tell us a bit about your plans?
I would like to see the warehouse evolve into a “one-stop shop” so we can invite our customers to our premises, and they, in turn, can use the “shop” on a daily basis. My plans will be to try to make sure all products and accessories are available.
I am always open to working with our customers’ feedback to accommodate what works for them and what we need to put on the racks… It’s nice when customers call in and we are able to get them out of a bind. I have learnt that quick turnaround times, product availability, and quality are everything in this industry.
What metal cladding products are your favourites?
My favourite is interlocking for sure 100%. I love the simplicity of this metal cladding profile. It creates a seamless look every time for our customers and their projects.
What trends can you see emerging in the industry?
I can see metal cladding continuing to grow as a lot more roof plumbers and builders are becoming more interested in using these products and finishes themselves.

I am very grateful for the opportunity given to me to work at ACS and really look forward to growing with the company as we move towards bigger and better things.
