We recently caught up with Matt MacDonald, senior estimator and project manager of Architectural Cladding Suppliers and Professional Plumbing Contractors.

We aim to reveal more about the people behind Architectural Cladding Suppliers… These people help deliver on the ACS promise made to all clients, supporting them to provide exceptional results every time.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role?

I have been with the company for 10 years. My work involves estimating and project management for our site projects.

Coordinating projects, dealing with job enquiries, supporting our clients – both builders and installers with their specific requirements, and working across the factory/production and on-site covers my working days. Every workday allows me and the Project team to help our clients realise their vision and meet their key requirements.

What are your responsibilities?

My responsibilities include estimating, project management, client management, site support, and other day-to-day activities that get thrown in.

I am proud to be part of a supportive project team. We work closely together to deliver solutions specific to project challenges and client job specifications. Our attention to detail, problem-solving, brainstorming different approaches, and providing custom solutions are all part of the value we deliver to our clients.

How long have you been working in the industry?

I have been working in the industry for more than 28 years. I have had the opportunity to work on diverse projects across several sectors in different roles, learning from the ground up. Our project team is constantly surrounded by innovative ideas and we are continuously improving as a business.

What satisfies you most about your work?

I think the most satisfying thing about my work is seeing the end product, from planning to execution. Working closely as a team on day by day basis enables us to come up with new ideas to exceed our client’s expectations. I also enjoy the diverse projects we work on, all are unique and allow us to problem-solve and be creative.

What metal cladding products are your favourites?

I like all the metal cladding profiles we produce, however, if I had to choose a favourite it would be Standing Seam. This profile has clean and sharp lines and our clients absolutely love the end result. Seeing our installers use some creative freedom with different material finishes and colours to deliver for their clients, is something I enjoy being part of.

What trends can you see emerging in the industry?

The trend for both builders and installers is evolving to using insulated panels in combination with architectural cladding like our Shingles specially fabricated and installed at Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park in Melbourne. I think the industry is embracing metal cladding and roofing as an architectural feature in commercial applications. The benefits delivered from low maintenance and non-combustible metal cladding profiles and roofing materials are being realised by all stakeholders involved, from architects and builders to installers and end-users.

Anything else you’d like to mention?
