Tell us a bit about yourself and your role?
I’m the managing director of Architectural Cladding Suppliers.
I oversee the management and operations of the business. Ensuring the day to day workings and procedures are of minimal fuss to deliver client satisfaction. To also provide the support needed to my clients and people.
What are your responsibilities?
Trying to be creative, innovative, and safe with everything we do at ACS is my key responsibility. New product development is the key ingredient for us to stay one step ahead in the industry, which is constantly growing and evolving with more projects, fabricators, and manufacturers.
How long have you been working in the industry?
I’m a hydraulic plumber by trade and started working in the industry 25 years ago. I ventured into roofing and then started working in metal cladding and roofing fabrication and manufacturing.
What satisfies you most about your work?
The final finished products and solutions delivered to our clients are very satisfying after our team injects a lot of hard work. Metal cladding and roofing provide that in spades for me. And from our people, seeing them grow with our business. ACS is like a family – we all look out for each other and have a “can-do” culture. This keeps us moving forward and working together.
Tell us a bit about Architectural Cladding Suppliers?
ACS was established from an overseas trip I made years ago to research the latest in fabrication equipment, new technologies, and metal cladding solutions. My operations team at the time wanted to break into metal cladding from the strong foundation we had already laid with our PPC Flashings products. This has proven to be a great extension of our offerings to the industry.
What metal cladding products are your favourites?
Originally, I fell in love with Interlocking and have now been drawn to Standing Seam. The 50mm rib height option for me is something special, providing a stunning aesthetic. It’s a profile we just had to manufacture to provide that real point of difference for our installers.
What trends can you see emerging in the industry?
Metal cladding is a trend right now, especially with COLORBOND® steel and their product development with the Matt range. A high-quality product at an affordable price, accessible to all in the industry within short lead times. It’s widely used and endorsed by architects, builders, plumbing professionals, and installers.
Tell us a bit about your involvement with The Block this year?
It’s been a great experience for our people and valued client – LCS Plumbing. Like all in the industry, we were disrupted by COVID-19 and had to find innovative ways of delivering high-quality products every time. The exposure for ACS has been awesome, our products are showcased in the stunning houses designed and built by reputable trades and brands in the industry.
What’s your vision for Architectural Cladding Suppliers?
Constantly improving and cracking the code to come up with new solutions and products. We want to keep on surprising our clients in a high quality, safe, and cost-effective way. The ACS team plans to be always there for our installers, innovating to make their work easier at every step of the project lifecycle.
What else is happening in your life and the business?
Remaining positive after a challenging year for all in our industry has been the key for me and ACS. Keeping morale high is constant and supporting our local community with the initiatives we run through the year. Like ‘Movember’, raising funds to help with men’s health. Our people and clients have shown some great support here. Thank you so much.
